In the site training of Beijing Outward Bound Training, the Mind Convergence project fully illustrates this point. This expansion project tells us what communication is, as well as the skills and methods of communication. When participating in this project, everyone is required to wear an eye mask and not speak. In such a situation, can we still communicate? The answer is yes, which requires us to find ways to communicate under obstacles.

A white politician went to a black residential area to deliver a campaign speech. To win the support of black voters, he blurted out a sentence: "Although my skin is white, my heart is as black as yours!" This is a joke that just highlights the importance of language. There is a famous saying: speaking without thinking always makes one look foolish. This means that one must think three times before speaking.

When Confucius was fifty years old, he fell in love with the "I Ching". After thoroughly reading the "I Ching", he wrote many famous annotations about it. Regarding how to be a person and cultivate one's character, Confucius once extended the meaning by saying: "Disorder arises from words being used as steps. If a ruler is not discreet, he will lose his ministers; if a minister is not discreet, he will lose his life; if confidential matters are not kept secret, they will lead to harm; therefore, a gentleman should be cautious and keep secrets." This means that chaos often arises from people's careless words. If a ruler speaks carelessly, talented ministers will leave; if a minister speaks carelessly, he will invite disaster; if confidential matters are leaked due to careless words, they will lead to complete failure. Therefore, people should be careful with their words and not speak casually.

The charm of words lies in the beauty of thought. The power of words comes from the strength of thought, and the strength of thought lies in the vitality of thought. Language is thought, so outward-bound training is also an invisible, invincible force. They are given certain forms, and ultimately these forms will be realized in objective existence. If we hope our ideals should be beautiful and powerful, we must recognize that we need to refine our language and think carefully before speaking!

Our success is inseparable from effective communication. Without communication, there is no interaction; without interaction, there will be a sense of strangeness between people. With strangeness, there can be no trust between people; without trust, there is no cooperation; without cooperation, where is there work? Without work, how can we talk about success? Therefore, effective communication is very important in our daily lives and work. Suppose the company assigns you a task that needs to be completed, and problems arise during the process that need to be solved promptly. At this time, you need to communicate with your superior in a timely manner. If your communication is effective, the next steps of work will go smoothly. Conversely, the work will not only be unsmooth, but in the eyes of the leader, our abilities will also be questioned.
