Baidu 3D Flash Photo Gallery Demo - Li Yuchun Tieba Version

This is a Flash 3D RIA application custom-made for Baidu. It distributes user avatars on the surface of a 3D sphere, with the perspective interacting with the mouse position. You can switch between 3D view and 2D view. When you click on a user, they are selected, the sphere rotates by a certain angle, and user information is displayed. In the top-right corner, you can search through all users in the space (it took a long time to write this search-matching algorithm). I did not use other engines like Papervision3D because after optimizing the algorithms, my self-developed engine has a speed advantage.

The project started on May 27, 2007, and the preliminary version was completed by the end of June. Then began the long road of debugging. The meticulous work spirit of Baidu's testing personnel and product managers was admirable but also headache-inducing. It took nearly three months to perfect this product, and finally, it went live—time to celebrate.

This product will be applied across all Baidu Tieba forums and may become the world's most visited Flash 3D RIA.
