**THE UNIT** is an action series produced by David Mamet and Shawn Ryan. The plot follows a secret team controlled by a special operations unit as they risk their lives to carry out covert missions around the world. Meanwhile, their wives back home support them while keeping their husbands' secrets. Led by Jonas Blane, "The Unit" operates in the field, and a new recruit, Bob Brown, joins as Jonas's subordinate. Members of The Unit include Jonas, Colonel Tom Ryan, Mack Gerhardt, Charles Grey, Hector Williams, and Bob Brown. All are skilled, trustworthy, brave, and reliable soldiers who depend on each other and have formed a brotherhood.

Jonas's wife, Molly, plays a leadership role among the wives of the team members. She comforts the other wives about their concerns and uncertainties while their husbands are away. Molly, along with Tiffy Gerhardt (a member's wife who hides her own secrets), helps Bob's pregnant wife, Kim, adjust to the pressures of her new life filled with secrecy.
