Plot Summary:
The grudge stems from those who have suffered bizarre deaths. Since their deaths were accompanied by accidents and indescribable pain, their dying thoughts become even more intense. Those wishes made between life and death will keep them wandering between reality and the underworld. They seek out their enemies to fulfill the grudges that span life and death.
Kay Yun is an American exchange student studying sociology in Japan. Besides her studies, she also works as a caregiver in an old house near the school on the outskirts of Tokyo. Her patient is an elderly grandmother named Emma, who suffers from severe mental illness and has stiffened limbs, making movement difficult. Like her almost forgotten owner, this house seems abandoned, covered with spider webs and dust everywhere, desolate and messy.
Kay Yun starts her work in this eerie house but is often disturbed by strange occurrences here. There are strange noises upstairs from time to time, and the shadow of a boy appears and disappears in the courtyard. As she gradually learns and investigates, Kay Yun finds out that the former owner of the house cruelly harmed his own family, so now the entire house is shrouded in deep resentment. It seeks revenge on everyone who enters here.
Kay Yun, who accidentally entered this place, has been firmly caught in the web of this grudge. The people around her are constantly being punished by the grudge, and these people who die because of the grudge continue to intensify this heavy resentment. Time is running out for Kay Yun. She must uncover the secret of the grudge before it fully erupts and find a way to completely destroy this resentment, stopping this terrifying grudge from continuing to spread...
