Apple CEO Steve Jobs on Monday released the 3G iPhone at the "Worldwide Developers Conference", with a price tag of only 199 US dollars. Despite the relatively low cost of the phone, AT&T's service fees are quite expensive.
For data, the monthly rental fee for an iPhone ranges from 10 to 30 US dollars. According to Ralph Vega, CEO of AT&T Wireless, the monthly rental fee for 200 text messages is 5 US dollars (unlimited for 20 US dollars). The MobileMe service costs 99 US dollars annually or 8 US dollars per month. Without registering for this service, users will be unable to use the iPhone synchronization function.
