At first, .Mac was merely a network storage platform offered to Mac users, but now it has evolved into MobileMe, which has been comprehensively upgraded to become a cloud computing service platform. Not only can Mac, iPhone, and iPod Touch users use it, but even PC users can as well — it can even sync with Outlook. Its slogan is that MobileMe can be used anywhere and in any environment, showing a clear intention to challenge Google. Moreover, the services provided by MobileMe go beyond mere online storage; they also include synchronized push services similar to BlackBerry Pushmail. It supports Microsoft Exchange and can synchronize/push your emails, calendar, contacts, schedule, files, and more. These are the core services that BlackBerry prides itself on, and it's hard to imagine the impact this service could have on BlackBerry once adopted by the vast user base of the iPhone.
