O2, the UK agent operator of iPhone, has announced that it will provide a new package for users to get an iPhone 3G for free by signing a user agreement. Previously, AT&T, Apple's US operator partner, had revealed that after the release of the iPhone 3G, Apple had given up its previous revenue-sharing model of phone bills and turned to the common carrier-subsidized pricing model in Europe and the United States. That is, the carrier bears part or even all of the cost of the mobile phone, and transfers this cost to the future phone bills paid after signing the contract.
