Note: Li Kaifu's Weibo address:

This morning at 8:30, the CEO of Innovation Works revealed on Weibo: An Apple executive told me that if Jobs cannot return to the company, the impact would not be as big as imagined: 1) The company's product layout for the next two years has already been stabilized. 2) The recent major products were overseen by Senior Vice President of Design, Jonathan Ive, and Jobs' role was only to critique. So as long as Ive does not leave Apple, the creative products from Apple will not be interrupted. 3) However, Ive is not a manager or an orator, so he needs to be paired with President Tim Cook. These remarks are likely in response to Jobs' recent leave due to health reasons (for more detailed reports: http://tech.qq.com/a/20110119/000153.htm).

However, netizens (many of whom are likely Apple fans) do not entirely agree with this view, insisting that Jobs is the soul of Apple. Jobs, who founded Apple in 1976 and returned to rejuvenate it in 1996, may be even more appealing than products like the iPhone and iPad, better capturing the hearts of users.

Below are comments from netizens:

@: It's hard to say. Being clear oneself doesn't mean investors are clear. Everything is about performance data. (40 seconds ago)

@: Jobs' role is irreplaceable; he determines the direction in which the Apple aircraft carrier is sailing. (30 seconds ago)

@Li Mingchuan: The role of a spiritual leader is not simply about product development. (3 minutes ago)

@Nian Nian Guan Zizai: I don't quite see a bright future for Apple without Jobs. (6 minutes ago)

@Bandao7 Tiehe: Without Jobs, Apple is done. You can't rely on old achievements forever. (6 minutes ago)

@Lang Xiao: Jobs is Apple's true spiritual leader. Electronic technology brands are different from fashion brands. Chanel without Chanel is still Chanel, but Apple without Jobs is just an ordinary apple. Jobs' previous departure is enough to explain everything. (2 minutes ago)
