The Paifang (archway) is a unique landscape of the ancient city of Beijing, and also a special architectural art and cultural carrier in China. There are 65 existing archways from Ming and Qing dynasties in Beijing, including 6 glazed tile archways, 42 wooden archways and 17 stone archways. Only 6 archways remain on the streets, namely the four archways on Guozijian Street, the glazed tile archway in front of the Dongyue Temple on Shenlu Street outside Chaoyang Gate, and the archway in front of the East Palace Gate of the Summer Palace.
