Eclipse extremes and eclipse basics

It provides a detailed description of the occurrence patterns of solar eclipses and the most spectacular phenomena, and is one of the better articles I've read in recent years about astronomical common knowledge.

The Patterns of Solar Eclipse Occurrences

A maximum of five solar eclipses can occur each year; if there are five, they are always partial eclipses.

There are at least two solar eclipses on Earth every year.

Only partial solar eclipses can be seen in the North and South Pole regions.

Total solar eclipses occur approximately once every one and a half years.

Each solar eclipse starts from a certain point at sunrise, then ends at sunset while following the path of totality. From the starting point to the ending point, it roughly covers half the circumference of the Earth.
