Excavator Operation Safety Regulations, Beijing Excavator Rental, trust Xin Xinfax:

One, The excavator operator should comply with the provisions of general safety technical regulations.

Two, Before the excavator works, the following preparations should be made:

1. Understand the construction conditions and tasks from the construction personnel. The content includes: the height and depth of filling and excavation soil, slope and wire height, underground cables, various pipelines, tunnels, graves and various obstacles' situation and location. After the excavator enters the site, the driver should abide by the relevant safety rules of the construction site.

2. When the excavator works in rocky soil or frozen ground areas, it should first carry out blasting before excavation.

3. According to the daily routine maintenance items, check, maintain, adjust, and tighten the excavator.

4. Check if fuel, lubricating oil, and coolant are sufficient, and add them if insufficient. Smoking and approaching open flames are strictly prohibited when adding fuel to prevent fire.

5. Check if the insulation of electrical wiring and all switch contacts is good.

6. Check for leaks in all pipes and operating valves of the hydraulic system, as well as in the work cylinders, oil pumps, etc., and if there are any abnormal actions.

7. Check if the steel wire rope and the clamps fixing the steel wire rope are securely reliable.

8. Place the main clutch lever in the "neutral" position, start the engine (if hand-crank starting, beware of the crankback injuring people; if hand-pulling the rope to start, do not wrap the rope around your hand). Check if all instruments, transmission mechanisms, working devices, and braking mechanisms are normal. Confirm that everything is correct before starting work.

9. After the engine starts, no one should stand in the bucket, on the arm, on the tracks, or on the cab.

Three, During the operation of the excavator, the following safety matters should be noted:

1. When the excavator is working, it should be parked on a solid and flat surface. For tire-mounted excavators, the outriggers should be properly set.

2. The excavator should be in a level position while working and the travel mechanism should be braked. If the ground is muddy, soft, or has a risk of sinking, use sleepers or wooden boards to ensure stability.

3. When the bucket is digging, the amount of soil taken each time should not be too deep, and the bucket should not be lifted too quickly to avoid damaging the machine or causing an overturning accident. When the bucket drops, be careful not to impact the tracks or the frame.

4. People assisting the excavator with cleaning the bottom, leveling, and grading must work within the excavator's swing radius. If work must be done within the swing radius, the excavator must stop swinging and the swing mechanism must be braked before work can proceed. At the same time, personnel above and below the machine must take care of each other, closely cooperate, and ensure safety.

5. Within the loading range of the excavator, vehicles and pedestrians must not stay. If unloading onto a truck, wait until the truck stops, the driver leaves the cab, then rotate the bucket to unload onto the truck. When the excavator rotates, try to avoid the bucket passing over the top of the cab. When unloading, lower the bucket as much as possible but be careful not to hit any part of the truck.

6. When the excavator rotates, use the rotation clutch with the rotation mechanism brake to turn smoothly. Sudden rotations and emergency braking are prohibited.

7. Do not perform rotation or traveling actions before the bucket leaves the ground. Do not raise or lower the arm or travel when the bucket is fully loaded and suspended.

8. In pull shovel operations, after the bucket is full, do not continue to dig to prevent overload. When using a pull shovel to dig trenches, channels, foundations, etc., consult with the construction personnel regarding depth, soil type, slope, etc., to determine the distance between the machinery and the slope.

9. In backhoe operations, wait until the arm is stable before scooping soil to prevent the bucket handle from colliding with the sides of the arm groove.

10. When moving, the track-type excavator should place the arm in the direction of travel, keep the bucket within 1 meter of the ground, and brake the rotation mechanism.

11. When climbing uphill, the drive wheels should be at the back, and the arm should be at the front; when going downhill, the drive wheels should be at the front, and the arm should be at the back. The slope angle should not exceed 20°. Go down slowly, do not change speed or coast in neutral during the journey. When the excavator passes over tracks, soft soil, or sticky soil roads, lay planks underneath.

12. When digging loose soil on high working surfaces, remove larger rocks and other debris from the working surface to prevent collapse accidents. If the soil becomes suspended and cannot naturally collapse, it must be handled manually. Do not use the bucket to knock it down or press it down to prevent accidents.

13. Whether the excavator is working or traveling, it must not approach overhead power lines. If it must work or pass near overhead power lines, the safety distance between the machinery and the overhead lines must comply with the dimensions specified in Table One. Working near or under overhead high-voltage lines during thunderstorms is strictly prohibited.

Table One

Line Voltage Level Vertical Safety Distance (m) Horizontal Safety Distance (m)

Below 1KV 1-20KV 35-110KV 154KV 220KV 1.5 1.5 2.5 2.5 2.5 1.5 2.0 4.0 5.0 6.0

14. When working near underground cables, the direction of the cable must be clarified and marked on the ground with white powder. Maintain a distance of more than 1 meter during excavation.

15. The turning of the excavator should not be too sharp. If the curve is large, turn in sections, each within 20°.

16. For tire-mounted excavators, since the flow of the steering vane pump is proportional to the engine speed, when the engine speed is low, the turning speed slows down accordingly. Pay special attention when turning during travel. Especially when going downhill and making sharp turns, shift to a low gear in advance to avoid sudden braking which causes the engine speed to drop sharply, making the turning speed unable to keep up and causing accidents.

17. When connecting the power supply to an electric excavator, the fuse in the switch box must be removed. Non-electricians are strictly prohibited from installing electrical equipment. When the excavator moves, a worker wearing pressure-resistant rubber shoes or insulated gloves should move the cable and be careful to prevent cable wear and leakage.

18. During operation, repairs, maintenance, and tightening work are strictly prohibited. If unusual sounds, odors, excessive temperature rise, etc., occur during work, stop immediately to check.

19. When maintaining, inspecting, lubricating, or replacing the pulley at the top of the arm, lower the arm to the ground.

20. When working at night, the work area and the cab should have good lighting.

Four, After the excavator finishes work, move the machine away from the work area and park it in a safe, flat place. Turn the body straight, face the internal combustion engine toward the sun, lower the bucket to the ground, put all control levers in the "neutral" position, apply all brakes, and turn off the engine (in winter, drain the cooling water completely). Perform routine maintenance according to the maintenance regulations. Close the doors and windows and lock them before leaving.

Five, When the excavator makes short-distance self-transfers, generally, the self-transfer distance of a tracked excavator should not exceed 5 kilometers. Tire-mounted excavators are unrestricted. However, long-distance self-transfers are not allowed.

Six, When the excavator makes short-distance self-transfers, the travel mechanism should be fully lubricated once. When traveling, the drive wheel should be at the rear, and the travel speed should not be too fast.

Seven, When loading and unloading the excavator, experienced riggers should direct. During loading and unloading, the excavator must not rotate or turn on the slope. If a dangerous situation occurs during loading, the bucket can be lowered to assist with braking, then the excavator can slowly retreat.
