Plot Introduction of "The Edge of Sin":

A casual drink turns literary editor Lin Feng into a murderer - driving under the influence and running over a pedestrian into the sea. Human weakness makes Lin Feng choose to flee, but his inherent kindness leaves him uneasy, and a whip of repentance begins to lash at his guilty soul. Lin Feng's wife, Tao Ran, is in charge of the radio station program "Safe Journey," which calls for traffic safety, and she often clashes with Lin Feng in their daily lives. This leads Lin Feng to hide the fact that he was the one who caused the accident, planting the seeds of destruction for their marriage. The widow of the victim, Qin Haiou, happens to be Lin Feng's elementary school classmate. Their reunion during this tragedy rekindles their old friendship, leading Lin Feng on a path of redemption as he carefully takes care of Qin Haiou and her family.

Lin Feng's act of redemption causes Tao Ran to misunderstand, and her husband's "infidelity" breaks her heart, shaking their marriage. Qin Haiou's daughter, Xiaoyu, suffers from congenital heart disease and needs money for surgery. Lin Feng pre-empts a sum of royalties and anonymously sends it to Qin Haiou.
