Lin Weizhu (played by Lu Qiaoyin) is the young mistress of a time-honored cool tea shop renowned for its unique recipe. As her parents had her when they were both over sixty, she lost them at the tender age of twelve. She was then raised to adulthood by Uncle Cai (played by Chen Wanlei), an old and loyal retainer who, though a bit foolish, stood by her side. From a young age, Lin Weizhu bore the responsibility of upholding the family business, which shaped her into a tough and stubborn character more akin to that of a man. She spends her days dealing with neighborhood matters and standing up for justice. Over the course of twenty-four years, she has shown no interest in romantic affairs, treating all men as brothers. Consequently, she has overlooked the affections of Zhao Shichun (played by Lin Shangyi), a rather rigid calligrapher who harbors deep feelings for her.
Additionally, the tea shop employs Xiao Liang (played by Deng Jianhong), who considers himself a ladies' man and boasts as many girlfriends as there are stars in the sky. However, beneath his playboy exterior lies a sincere affection for Lin Weizhu. He even postpones his dream of going to Japan to learn sumo wrestling just for her.
