In the spring of 1949, during the fierce battle of Huangmalin, Nationalist Army Colonel Lan Zhenghong built a mother-and-child fortress and resisted our army's attack. Captain Tie Liang of our Huay Army decisively organized an assault team, disguised as Nationalist soldiers, and infiltrated the enemy's position. While destroying the mother-and-child fortress, he was seriously injured and unconscious. However, Lan Zhenghong mistakenly regarded Tie Liang, who was dressed in Nationalist uniform, as a hero of the Nationalist Army, and escorted him to Shanghai for rescue. This was Tie Liang's first trip into the city.
