In the spring of 1949, during the intense battle of Huangmalin, Nationalist Army Brigadier Lan Zhenghong was putting up a stubborn resistance in the maternal-fortress against our army's attack. Captain Tie Liang of our Huayou Army decisively organized an assault team, disguised as Nationalist soldiers, and infiltrated the enemy's position. While destroying the maternal-fortress, he was seriously injured and unconscious. However, Lan Zhenghong mistakenly identified Tie Liang, who was wearing Nationalist uniform, as a hero of the Nationalist Army and sent him to Shanghai for rescue. This was Tie Liang's first time entering the city.
