Deep Courtyard Plot Introduction:

By the lakeside, a wooden house is surrounded by a vibrant sea of sunflowers in full bloom, presenting a picturesque and enchanting view. It is here that Bai Yulan (played by Lu Qin) and Qiao Risheng (played by Martin Lam), in the prime of their lives, embark on an epic love story filled with passion and heartbreak.

Yulan and Risheng fall deeply in love and pledge their lives to each other. However, Risheng's strict mother, Chu Xinfang (played by Pei-pei Cheng), driven by her own selfish desires, conspires with the head butler Mr. Qin (played by Yang Zezhong) and forcibly intervenes. On a stormy night with howling winds, pouring rain, thunder, and lightning, they are cruelly separated. Yulan’s life is put in danger, leaving Risheng with no choice but to yield. He promises Yulan to wait for him, assuring her that he will return after persuading his mother, and then come back to marry her.
