Plot Introduction of "Huizhou Women":

In the late Qing Dynasty, during early autumn, the wealthy Huizhou merchant Cheng family is bustling with joy in preparation for the old lady's sixtieth birthday celebration. The second madam, Zhu Shaolan, is beaming with happiness as she eagerly awaits the return of her husband Cheng Jiaxuan, who has been away conducting business in Hangzhou for many years. On the other hand, the headmistress of the Cheng household, First Madam Du Lanxin, is disheartened by the absence of her own husband who failed to return as promised.

Country girl Qiujie hides in a suitcase on Cheng Jiaxuan's ship to escape being sold by her brother to an unknown man. She is inadvertently brought into the Cheng household.
