As can be imagined from the title, the handsome soba shop clerk portrayed by Fujiki, Higuchi Juntarou, is repeatedly asked to act as a detective solving cases, dealing with all kinds of "tricky mysteries." The story is filled with humor in every corner. It's no wonder. "Noodle Detective" brings together the cast of the short drama variety show "Go For It!" which aired consecutively from April 2007 to March last year on BS Nippon and local stations. "Go For It!" was a program starring Fujiki, Ikusei, and Furuta, featuring luxurious guest appearances each time, filled with absurdly funny content and hidden jokes, often referred to as a legendary show.
When talking about the planning of the program, producer Ito Hiroyuki said, "To be honest, when I first saw 'Go For It!', I was a bit envious. To be involved in the production of such an interesting program." The roles of the three actors also continue in the style of "Go For It!". This time, Fujiki, who appears as the main actor, expressed his determination to bring a comedy-filled series to everyone: "Because it's a late-night drama, I hope to bring laughter and fun to the audience. I will work hard to follow in the footsteps of my seniors around me."
Ikusei, who put a lot of effort into the birth of the legendary program, plays the role of a former talent agency broker who impersonates his twin brother, a police officer, after his brother suddenly disappears. He also said, "With the addition of new directors and writers, I am looking forward to creating a brand-new late-night drama." Furuta, playing the regular customer of the soba shop — the homosexual president of the talent agency — mentioned plans to surpass "Doterai Man" (starring Kihachiro Sato), and promised to fully unleash the "absurd humor," leaving people eagerly anticipating.
