On the 21st, the winning list of the 19th Golden Lens News Photography Competition in China was announced. A news photo by Yang Shuhuai, a reporter for the Hunan Morning Post, with the theme of the Yihuang Demolition Event in Jiangxi Province, stood out among more than 30,000 works from all over the country. The photo, titled "The Zhong Sisters of Yihuang", was selected as the Best Photo of 2010 in the "Golden Lens" competition.

Judge Jiang Duo stated that this photo received unanimous recognition from all judges. The main reasons for winning were the news value of the event itself and the outstanding use of lens language by the author. In addition, Qin Lou, a reporter for the Hunan Morning Post, won the Silver Award for Single Image in the Non-breaking News Category with his work "Funeral".

The annual "Golden Lens" award is one of the major awards in Chinese news photography. Last year, the controversial work "Holding Corpses for Ransom" won the grand prize, and the photographer was Zhang Yi from the Hunan Morning Post. This marks the second consecutive year that a reporter from the Hunan Morning Post has won the grand prize.

Last year, in the 18th Golden Lens Award competition, Yang Shuhuai won the Silver Award for Group Photos in the News Personality Category with "A Six-Year-Old Boy's Anti-'Jia' Record", and the Silver Award for Group Photos in the Breaking News Category with "Battle, Smoke 50 Meters Outside the Border". This year, Yang Shuhuai unanimously won the Best Photo of the Year with "The Zhong Sisters of Yihuang", making up for last year's regret.

Regarding why "The Zhong Sisters of Yihuang" received unanimous recognition from all judges, Yang Shuhuai believed: "The reason this photo won, besides the event itself, is that the writing of photographic language is relatively complete, there are more feelings about the inner world of the characters, and the traces of the photographer's existence are relatively few. These factors may have moved the judges."

It is reported that the injured person in the photo, Zhong Ruqin, is still being treated in Beijing. She suffered extensive burns all over her body during the incident, and her medical expenses are covered by the Yihuang County Government. Source: (Dianhui Forum http://qqnba2.uueasy.com)
