"Confucius" Plot Introduction:

In the 6th century BC, the once mighty Zhou Dynasty was on the verge of collapse, with various feudal states holding power in their respective regions, waging wars against each other in pursuit of dominance. This was a grand era in Chinese history, an age of brilliance and splendor. In this era, there were wars, heroes, thoughts, and works... A period known in Chinese history as the "Spring and Autumn Period."

Confucius, whose given name was Qiu and courtesy name Zhongni, was born into a declining aristocratic family in the small feudal state of Lu at that time. Troubled by the chaos in society, he hoped to influence the historical course of the Spring and Autumn states with his ideas and wisdom that transcended his time. However, much like the experiences of other sages in history, Confucius' time had not yet arrived. Although he once held office in the state of Lu and brought dignity and great hope to the country through his courage and wisdom, his political ideals eventually crumbled in the face of reality. Afterwards, Confucius traveled for fourteen long years among the various states, leading a group of disciples to spread his ideas, hoping to resist the entire era. Unfortunately, the world at that time did not accommodate his propositions. He was several times besieged by hostile armies, fell into dire straits, got entangled in political conspiracies, and was even misunderstood by the people around him... Returning to his homeland of Lu in his later years, he did not retire but continued tirelessly to educate his disciples and engage in the compilation of ancient texts. Confucius passed away in disappointment, his patriotic fervor dissipated like water flowing eastward. Yet, the collapse of rites and music ultimately gave rise to a teacher for all generations! After his death, his words and thoughts were finally recognized and revered by future generations, becoming an important source of the Chinese national spirit, earning him the posthumous title of "Great Sage and First Teacher".
