Goku embarks on a journey to find Master Roshi and collect the seven dragon balls to stop the Demon King Piccolo from ruling the world after receiving his grandfather Son Gohan's instructions before his death. On the way, Goku meets Bulma, with the help of her Dragon Ball radar, they found one dragon ball after another on the road. When Goku finds Master Roshi, they have a fierce fight. Through observing the kung fu used by Goku, Master Roshi discovers that he is actually the grandson of Son Gohan, who was Master Roshi's disciple. Goku accepts the rigorous training from Master Roshi. After a long journey, Goku finally gets closer to the Demon King Piccolo.

"Dragon Ball" is adapted from Akira Toriyama's eponymous manga, produced by 20th Century Fox, with Stephen Chow as the producer and Chinese director James Wong (Huang Yi Yu) responsible for writing and directing. Newcomer Justin Chatwin plays "Goku", James Marsters plays "Piccolo", Chow Yun Fat plays Goku's teacher "Master Roshi", and Emmy Rossum plays "Bulma".

"Dragon Ball" will be released in North America on April 3, 2009. Japan will release it earlier than the rest of the world on March 13, 2009.
