A survey shows that on this romantic day of Christmas, 70% of single men spend the holiday alone. However, according to another survey, the success rate of confessions on Christmas exceeds 70%. So, everyone should take advantage of the remaining time and make a move. For those in love, Christmas is undoubtedly a special day of the year. Many people might plan to confess their feelings or even propose on this day. AIA Family Life Insurance Company conducted a survey about "giving experiences" (not material items, but words or experiences as gifts) in preparation for Christmas.
The survey targeted 1,122 men and women aged 12-59 residing in six regions of Japan (Hokkaido・Tohoku / Kanto・Koshinetsu / Tokai・Hokuriku / Kinki / Shikoku・Chugoku / Kyushu・Okinawa), with 561 males and 561 females. First, regarding the question "Do you agree that expressing heartfelt words can better convey your feelings on Christmas?" 34.8% of respondents agreed, which is twice as many as the 16.4% who disagreed.
Furthermore, concerning the question "Do you agree that the success rate of confessions or proposals increases because they happen on Christmas?" 53.7% of respondents agreed, surpassing half of the total. Especially among female respondents in their twenties, 61.9% strongly agreed.
It has been proven that the success rate of confessions and proposals during Christmas reaches as high as 74.2%. Important confessions made during Christmas may indeed increase the likelihood of success.
Next, the topic shifts to whether Christmas gifts should be "physical items" or "experiences." 60.4% of lovers opted for giving experiences ("absolutely give experiences" 13.2% + "relatively give experiences" 47.2%). The proportion gradually decreases when it comes to family, friends, and colleagues. Among colleagues, less than one-third (21.6% = "absolutely give experiences" 3.6% + "relatively give experiences" 18.0%) prefer giving experiences, indicating that colleagues do not value "giving experiences" as much as lovers or partners do.
Finally, when asked "When receiving a Christmas gift, would you like to receive a blessing along with it?" 88.7% of respondents expressed a desire to receive one ("hope to receive" 24.9% + "relatively hope to receive" 63.8%). This suggests that non-material things like words or experiences are also very important during Christmas.
