Synopsis:

The eldest son, Niu Zhihua, who is afraid of his wife, under the instigation of his daughter-in-law Feng Sanyan, has a series of disputes with his younger brother Niu Zhiwen, who has just graduated with a master's degree, over two properties. As a result, Old Niu moves into a nursing home. Although the second daughter Zhang Yuemei was given away by her father due to the traditional preference for sons over daughters, her straightforward and kind-hearted nature makes her harbor no resentment towards her father but instead think only of Old Niu. Old Niu suffers from a cerebral thrombosis attack and is hospitalized. Faced with exorbitant medical bills, the two brothers, unable to bear the cost, decide to transfer their father to another hospital. Unexpectedly, during the transfer, Old Niu "disappears."

After reappearing, Old Niu reflects deeply and realizes his mistakes. With the help and reminders of his old partner Zixia, he decides to re-educate his children. Eventually, the family reunites. Zixia is leaving, and all the old neighbors come to see her off. Old Niu does not show up, and Zixia looks disappointedly again and again.
