The hero action game "Sengoku Basara" released by CAPCOM is finally scheduled for animation! Since its launch in July 2008, the game has been supported by a wide range of game enthusiasts and is a popular work with cumulative initial shipment sales reaching 1.2 million copies. Set against the backdrop of the Warring States period, the game presents from a fresh perspective and incorporates modern considerations, designing charismatic warriors such as Date Masamune, Sanada Yukimura, Oda Nobunaga, Uesugi Kenshin, Takeda Shingen, etc., along with imaginative and splendid dream-like martial arts duels, making it an extremely popular series game suitable for all kinds of players. So far, this game has released versions including "Sengoku Basara", "Sengoku Basara 2", "Sengoku Basara 2: Heroes", "Sengoku Basara (Cross)", and a new PSP version "Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes" is also planned to be launched in spring 2009.

The animation version production is handled by Production I.G, known for many excellent masterpieces. It is expected that they will fully leverage animation expression techniques based on the original work's worldview to present a unique "Sengoku Basara" to the original game players. The director is Hiroaki Kawasaki who directed "Tsubasa Chronicle: Princess of the Birdcage Country" and "Dream Jeweler". The series composition is by Yasuyuki Mutou, known for works like "PERSONA -trinity soul-", "Chevalier", and "Kouga Ninja Scrolls". The character design is by Toru O Kubo, famous for "BLOOD+", "Guardian Spirit", and "RD - Underground Defense Department".

[Character Introduction]

Date Masamune (CV: Kazuya Nakai): A young general occupying the region of Oushuu dreaming of ruling the world. His speech mixes foreign languages. Additionally, because only one sharp eye is visible under his crescent moon helmet, he is called the "One-Eyed Dragon". He is a man who adheres to his own beliefs. After meeting the young brave "Sanada Yukimura" serving the Takeda family on the battlefield, they become lifelong rivals. Both his martial arts and strategy are remarkable, he cares deeply for his subordinates and people, and has a strong sense of responsibility. He possesses a unique sword technique called "Six Claw Flow", and when out of control or facing an opponent requiring full effort, he swings six swords from his waist to eliminate enemies.

Sanada Yukimura (CV: Sousuke Fujiwara): A young samurai who reveres "Takeda Shingen" like a father. To make "Takeda Shingen" rule the world, he sprints across the battlefield with his two beloved guns. He gets excited when encountering strong opponents and challenges those with fiery souls. After battling "Date Masamune" on the battlefield, they mutually acknowledge each other's strength and both feel the power of the other. However, on the battlefield, he seriously accepts jokes from his subordinate "Sarutobi Sasuke", and reacts to women like a newcomer in love, shy and naive like a child. Moreover, his fiery spirit often leads him to engage in fist fights with "Takeda Shingen", becoming a common sight in the daily life of the Takeda army.

Oda Nobunaga (CV: Norio Wakamoto): Calling himself the Sixth Heavenly Demon King, he is a Warring States demon king unifying the world through terror and slaughter. His personality is cold and cruel, possessing the majestic aura of a king who aims to defeat everyone in the world. He does not spare even close relatives who obstruct his bid for world domination. Continuously invading other countries, he rapidly expands his territory map. Nevertheless, many are captivated by Nobunaga's charm, and he has many excellent generals under his command who follow his orders and wield their deadly blades.

Katakura Kojuurou (CV: Tomokazu Moriyama): A general serving Date Masamune. Protecting his lord from behind, he is known as the right eye of the dragon because he is ready to die even in dire situations. Calm and taciturn, he values righteousness and acts openly and honestly, earning the trust of Date Masamune and his subordinates. He often advises the easily impulsive Date Masamune, but once the lord makes a decision, he follows it no matter how dangerous the action may be. On the other hand, due to his upright nature, he reveals a fierce side usually hidden when fighting those who use underhanded methods.
