Introduction:

This movie tells a story set in the late 1930s during the Chinese Anti-Japanese War. George Hogg, a British journalist, happened to arrive in China when the Japanese army was carrying out an atrocious massacre in Nanjing. In order to tell the world the truth about the war, he went deep into the battlefield for coverage. Unfortunately, he was captured by the Japanese army but later rescued by Jack Chen of the New Fourth Army. During his escape and recovery, he met more than 60 orphans who survived the Japanese massacre. Despite the language barrier, George took on the responsibility of caring for these children. As the war drew closer, to avoid further harm to these children, George and Jack unhesitatingly led these more than 60 Chinese orphans on a journey of over a thousand kilometers along the ancient Silk Road. They endured countless dangers, crossed snow-capped mountains, and reached the edge of the desert to escape from the war, only to face new life stories... On the set of "The Children of Huangshi", Jerry Gewargen is the "grand steward" under the director and above ten thousand others. His position in the crew is First Assistant Director, which directly translates to "First Deputy Director" in Chinese. However, this "First Deputy Director" holds much more power than their counterparts domestically. This position is equivalent to a "Prime Minister", handling everything from the scene to logistics. Jerry has been in this line of work for a lifetime, from the 1970s "Star Wars", "Superman", to the 1980s "Elephant Man", "Magic Hour", and then to the early 21st century's "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider", "Troy", truly deserving the title of the world's "First Deputy Director".
