The pit of Nyiragongo Volcano is the largest lava lake in the world. Lookinged down from the edge of the pit, the lava lake is a great wonder of the African continent. The edge of the crater is about 11,380 feet (about 3414 meters) above sea level and the depth of the lava lake is up to 1300 feet (about 339 meters).
