Episode 1: Wang Laohu and Wenbin become sworn enemies

In Meilong County, rumors spread about a water dragon causing havoc and killing many livestock. Wang Laohu, the head of the local militia in the county, along with his fellow militiamen, dance with a colorfully decorated dragon prop in an attempt to lure out the water dragon. Laohu, determined to rid the village of the menace, is also motivated by the promise of marriage from a local villager, Shi Menglu, who declared that any brave warrior who avenges her father's death by defeating the water dragon would have her hand in marriage. Laohu and the militiamen go around conscripting able-bodied men for the task, but many of these so-called warriors resort to cunning tricks to avoid participating in the dangerous mission.
