Beiping was formerly known as Beijing. In the 17th year of the Republic of China, the National Government established its capital in Nanjing and renamed it as the Beiping Special Municipality. In the 19th year, it was again renamed as Beiping City, directly under the jurisdiction of the Executive Yuan, abbreviated as a municipality directly administered by the Executive Yuan, located in the northern part of Hebei Province. Because it is known as the "cultural ancient capital," the influence of its customs on social life should be even more profound.
