Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron has been released, and I believe many of you have already started playing around with it. Although there are fewer games on Linux, there are still quite a few worth trying. The VGPRO website has summarized some major titles that can be played on Hardy Heron:

"World of Warcraft" v2.4.x, which needs to be run via emulation in Wine 0.9.6.0, but the compatibility is already very high.

"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare," the best game of 2007, can also be emulated in Wine, though there are some server compatibility issues for multiplayer gaming.

"UT2004," this one doesn't require emulation; just install the latest graphics card drivers and you're ready to play. Additionally, you can choose from many UT2004 mods, such as Alien Swarm.

"Day of Defeat: Source," based on the Source engine, requires Wine emulation.

"Guild Wars," a high-quality MMORPG.

"Eve Online," with native Linux support.

"Enemy Territory: Quake Wars," also with native Linux support.
