Time: March 14th, Beijing Time
Event: According to the UK's Independent newspaper, it may sound alarming, but it is true: The Earth's magnetic North Pole is moving towards Russia at an unprecedented speed in human history. This poses a significant threat to both the safety of modern transportation systems and the traditional navigation routes of migratory animals.
Details: Scientists have stated that the magnetic North Pole, which has been located in the cold regions of Canada for two centuries, is now shifting towards Russia at a speed of approximately 40 miles (64.37 kilometers) per year. In the past decade, the speed of the pole’s movement has increased by one-third, prompting scientists to boldly speculate that the Earth's magnetic field might "reverse," causing compasses to point south instead of north. It is reported that the Earth experiences 3 to 7 magnetic pole reversals per million years.
