On the 10th day, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held an exhibition titled "The Achievements of the Electronics Information Industry in the Past Thirty Years of Reform and Opening-up - A New Journey of Crossing and Integration". The exhibition reviewed the important journey of the electronics information industry over the past thirty years and scientifically summarized the achievements in seven aspects.

(I) The scale of the industry has continued to expand, and economic benefits have steadily improved.

In 2007, the electronics information industry achieved sales revenue of 5.6 trillion yuan, equivalent to 3851 times that of 1978 (1.45 billion yuan), with an average annual growth rate of 32.9%.

The industrial added value was 1.3 trillion yuan, equivalent to 455 times that of 1978 (2.88 billion yuan), with an average annual growth rate of 23.5%. The proportion of industrial added value in GDP rose from 0.7% in 1978 to 5.3% in 2007. The total profit and tax were 312.7 billion yuan, equivalent to 1094 times that of 1978 (290 million yuan), with an average annual growth rate of 27.3%. The scale of the industry ranks first among domestic industrial sectors and is at the forefront of the world.

(II) The industrial structure continues to optimize, and the output of key products ranks among the world's top.

A good pattern of all-round development in the electronics information industry has been formed. In 2007, in the income of the electronics information industry, the software industry accounted for 10.4%, the computer industry accounted for 31.1%, the communication equipment industry accounted for 14.9%, the home audio-visual industry accounted for 7.3%, the electronic device industry accounted for 10.1%, and the electronic component industry accounted for 16.9%. At the beginning of the 1990s, the situation where the electronics information industry was tied to color TVs has fundamentally changed. The output of China's key electronic products ranks among the world's top. In 2007, the production volume of mobile phones, microcomputers, color TVs, monitors, program-controlled switches, digital cameras, and other products produced within China ranked first globally. China has become an important production and manufacturing base for global electronics information products.

(III) Market structure focuses on both domestic and foreign markets, and foreign trade shows steady growth.

In 1978, the total amount of foreign trade in the entire electronics information industry was less than 1 million US dollars. By 2007, it had reached 804.7 billion US dollars, accounting for a ratio of the national foreign trade total that increased from 0.3% to 37%. By the end of 2007, the electronics information industry had utilized more than 130 billion US dollars in foreign investment, accounting for 17% of the total foreign investment utilized nationwide. Today, the Chinese market has become an important part of the world market.

(IV) The strength of enterprises continues to increase, and the large company strategy has achieved remarkable results.

China's electronics information enterprises have gradually shifted from small-scale, decentralized operations to a pattern dominated by large companies with mutual support from small and medium-sized enterprises, giving rise to a number of large enterprise groups developing across regions and industries. In 1987, the first-ranked Shanghai Television Factory No.1 in the inaugural list of the top 100 electronics information enterprises had an annual operating revenue of 576 million yuan; in 1997, the top-ranked Changhong Sichuan in the 11th top 100 became the first company to break through the 10 billion yuan mark; in 2005, the first-ranked Haier Group in the 19th top 100 was the first to reach the 10 billion yuan step, and in 2007, Lenovo Holdings' operating revenue reached 146.2 billion yuan, entering the Fortune Global 500 in 2008. Currently, among the top 100 electronics information enterprises, 23 have operating revenues exceeding 10 billion yuan, and 2 exceed 100 billion yuan. These top 100 enterprises account for less than 0.2% of the total number of enterprises in the entire industry but generate 22.4% of the industry's operating revenue, 23.5% of profits, and 57.1% of taxes, playing a pivotal role in accelerating the construction of an electronic power.
