On November 19, the Taiwan Special Investigation Team continued its investigation by summoning Zhang Weijin, a friend of the Chen family, as a witness. Zhang Weijin publicly displayed a document she claimed was a personal last letter given to her by Chen Shui-bian.
The document presented by Zhang Weijin was written on November 10, the day before Chen Shui-bian's fifth interrogation by the Special Investigation Team. In this brief six-point handwritten note, which Zhang Weijin regards as Chen Shui-bian's last letter, Chen Shui-bian strongly protests his innocence, emphasizes that he is not someone who seeks to enjoy privileges, and further cautions those who are helping Ma Ying-jeou eliminate political rivals: "Please be careful in supporting Ma; do not harm Ma while intending to help him."
