Our reporter Sun Siya - Two security guards, Mr Zhang and Mr Yang from the Children's Hospital, took advantage of their positions at the special needs outpatient department to extort several ten thousand yuan from scalpers. Yesterday, it was reported that the Xicheng court sentenced the two to four years and four months, and one year in prison respectively for extortion.
Long-term scalpers in the special needs outpatient department, Xu and Meng testified that all the special needs outpatient department tickets are expert tickets, and they could earn about 400 yuan each time after reselling them. After Mr Zhang came, as soon as he saw them queuing up, he would ask them for money, and verbally threatened them, "Give me 200 yuan each time, if you don't give me money, get out, don't come to queue up for registration later, or I will take you to the police station." Because they were afraid of being dealt with by the police, they had no choice but to comply, giving more than 8000 yuan and more than 2000 yuan respectively.
In August 2010, the security guard changed his shift, and Mr Zhang was transferred away. The new security guard Mr Yang also continued the "business" of extorting scalpers, continuing this risk-free and highly profitable business. Mr Yang reduced the daily charge to 100 yuan per person. In addition to verbal threats, he even resorted to physical violence against scalpers who refused to pay. Mr Yang extorted a total of more than 50,000 yuan from four scalpers.
