Recently, a security guard from Xuancheng named "Yu Zhanqin" was working in Changxing County, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, when he found a huge sum of 100,000 yuan and returned it all to the rightful owner (as detailed in our newspaper's A25 edition on July 8th titled "Security Guard Returns 100,000 Yuan in Cash"). After this story was reported by our newspaper, it sparked heated discussions and attention from all sectors of society.

"Yu Zhanqin" not only returned the lost money but also declined various rewards afterward, even splitting the 2,000 yuan bonus given by his company with his colleagues. On the afternoon of July 10th, the typically low-profile Yu told reporters, "I want to change jobs soon and don't want too many people to disturb me."

A. Refusing Thanks: Netizens Call Him "Reject-Thanks Brother"

At around 1:00 PM on July 5th, "Yu Zhanqin" was patrolling in the underground garage of the residential complex when he suddenly found a bag on the ground. Upon opening it, he was shocked to find several bundles of hundred-yuan bills inside, totaling 100,000 yuan, along with some other items like a mobile phone.

More than an hour later, the owner, Mr. Wei, retrieved his carelessly lost luggage and all the cash from him.

"Yu Zhanqin" earns less than 2,000 yuan per month and still owes money for his son's tuition fees. However, he did not waver at the sight of the "found" 100,000 yuan in cash and refused the 5,000 yuan gratuity offered by Mr. Wei.

In recent days, "Yu Zhanqin's" righteous act has been widely discussed, and enthusiastic netizens have affectionately nicknamed him "Reject-Thanks Brother."

Actually, "Yu Zhanqin's" real name is Yu Zhanqing. The reason why Old Yu used a pseudonym during the previous interviews was that he didn't want people to know his real name.

"I returning the money I found to the owner is a very normal thing; there's no need to leave my name," Old Yu said. He still doesn't know Mr. Wei's contact information until now.

B. Declining Bonuses: He Divided the Rewards Among His Colleagues

"I still stand by my words; I will not accept any bonuses." After repeatedly refusing the gratitude of the owner, the property management company where Yu Zhanqing works decided to give him a 2,000 yuan reward. Surprisingly, he chose to decline again. However, because the leadership of the property company insisted, he came up with a compromise.

After receiving the money, Yu Zhanqing immediately distributed the entire bonus among his colleagues who worked with him, including the security guards and cleaners... More than 20 colleagues each received a share, while he himself took nothing.

"I've already said that I won't accept any rewards. After further discussion with the company leadership, I think this approach is more appropriate," Yu explained.

Initially, he planned to donate the 2,000 yuan to people in need in society. But then he thought, if he donated it, it would only create a personal effect.

Old Yu told reporters that he and his colleagues form a small team. In the process of returning the luggage undamaged to the owner, many colleagues contributed their efforts. Some helped watch over the luggage, and others assisted in verifying the identity of the owner when he came. "If everyone encounters such a situation in the future, they will definitely make the same choice as me."

C. Avoiding Fame: He Wants to Change Jobs and Work Quietly

After the media disclosed the story of finding and returning the money, Yu Zhanqing's phone kept ringing non-stop. According to him, on July 8th, the Civilization Office of Changxing County and other units presented him with a banner. Yu Zhanqing emphasized to reporters that what he did was just an ordinary matter, and he didn't want to attract too much attention. Apart from the certificates of merit, he wouldn't accept any bonuses in the future. He collected all the newspapers reporting on him and planned to take them back to Xuancheng to show his son, using them to educate his son to be honest and diligent in life and work.

On March 18th of this year, in order to earn more money to support his son's university education, he became a security guard in Changxing County, Zhejiang. Due to his outstanding performance and hardworking nature, he was promoted to the position of supervisor in the company's security department on April 3rd, and officially became a supervisor on May 1st. Normally, it takes two months of probation before one can become a formal employee.

Under the spotlight of the media, Yu Zhanqing's fame grew increasingly larger. "Now I feel a bit pressured," Yu Zhanqing revealed to reporters that he plans to change jobs and leave his current workplace after some time. "I'm just an ordinary person. I don't want to be famous or anything; I just want to work quietly and peacefully."
