Firefighters rappel from above to rescue trapped boy

According to the correspondent, Xu Xiaolong, at 12:30 PM yesterday, a 2-year-old boy in Huaxinyuan Community, Tongzhou District mischievously locked the door, trapping his grandfather outside while he was taking out the garbage.

It turned out that during the incident, Mr. Wu had left his house without his keys to dispose of the garbage and casually closed the door behind him. Unexpectedly, his 2-year-old playful grandson locked the door from inside. When Mr. Wu returned, he realized he couldn't open the door. Initially, Mr. Wu tried to have his grandson open the door from inside, but due to his young age and being frightened, the grandson not only didn't know how to open the door but also started crying incessantly inside. Helpless, Mr. Wu knocked on his neighbor's door to borrow a phone and call the police.

Subsequently, the Liyuan Fire Station of Tongzhou District arrived at Mr. Wu's home. Considering the child's young age, in order to avoid startling him, the firefighters decided to rappel down from above to enter Mr. Wu's house and unlock the door. Mr. Wu lived on the fourth floor of a six-story residential building, but the neighbors upstairs were not at home. The firefighters then found the property management and learned that there was a skylight on the roof through which they could access the top of the building. After securing their own safety, one firefighter rappelled down from the roof to Mr. Wu's home and opened the door from inside.
