Pakistan's Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, following an invitation from his Indian counterpart Dr. Manmohan Singh, will attend the much-anticipated India-Pakistan World Cup semi-final clash in Mohali on March 30, according to a spokesperson from the President's House. Farhatullah Babar reported that Gilani held a two-hour meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, during which it was decided that Gilani would visit India to witness the 'high voltage' encounter between the neighboring countries, as per Samaa TV reports. The match will take place a day after home secretary-level talks between the two nations on March 28-29. Official sources state that Gilani will meet Dr. Singh informally during the World Cup semi-final, and a formal session will be held after the game to discuss bilateral issues. It is expected that both prime ministers will also discuss cricket diplomacy to improve Indo-Pak bilateral relations. Officials from Pakistan's Sports Ministry and the Pakistan Cricket Board (governing body) will also be present in Mohali to watch the game, Geo TV reports. Meanwhile, Babar stated that Pakistan has accepted Dr. Singh's invitation for President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani to attend the ICC Cricket World Cup semi-final match in Mohali. India and Pakistan have not played any bilateral series since the terrorist attacks in Mumbai in November 2008. The Pakistani cricket players have also not participated in the Indian Premier League since its first edition in early 2008. (ANI)
