A key can unlock a door, and it can also almost kill a person. An octogenarian scavenger has donated 270,000 yuan over the past decade, saving money by using rainwater instead of water and electricity. Around 8 PM last night, a special patient was brought to Hefei Second People's Hospital. This was a five-year-old girl who arrived at the hospital with a key embedded in her forehead! The key was almost entirely inserted into the girl's head, leaving onlookers horrified and causing her family to nearly collapse.

At around 8:30 PM, I arrived at the Second People's Hospital. The emergency room doctor described how terrifying the girl looked upon arrival; he had never seen such a unique case before. "There was a key stuck in her head, almost completely penetrating into it," he said. The girl was still conscious and able to speak when she was admitted. Her family held her tightly to prevent her from moving and causing further harm. After initial treatment, the girl was transferred to the neurosurgery department for further care.

Around 9 PM, the severely injured girl was rushed to the operating room for emergency surgery. In the waiting area outside the operating room, several family members, including her elderly grandfather, sat anxiously. Every time the operating room door opened, they would rush forward to inquire about the situation. The neurosurgeons explained that the girl's injuries were severe; the key had penetrated 4 centimeters into her skull, breaking through the cranial cavity and causing cerebral hemorrhage. Her condition could be described as "critical."

When the girl's parents recounted the shocking incident to the doctors, they recalled what happened that evening. After dinner, the parents were watching TV while the girl was happily playing with the key as a temporary toy. She ran around the floor holding the key, which seemed perfectly normal to her parents.

The injury came suddenly. The girl tripped and fell face-first to the ground, and the key in her hand pierced directly into her forehead. Her screams shocked her parents, who clearly saw that their beloved child had suffered a terrible injury. After the incident, the girl's family was overwhelmed with guilt, unable to hide their regret for not recognizing the potential danger of the key in her hands.

Currently, the girl is still under treatment in the hospital. (Reported by Xia Haijun, China Daily)
