On February 10th, with the spring cold still biting and the chilly wind hitting one's face, reporters at Hebei Yanda Color Coated Steel Sheet Industry Co., Ltd.'s project site of a 500,000-ton high-end premium color coated galvanized steel sheet project observed that within the factory area, thick steel beams stood on the east side. In groups of three to five, workers were welding; in the construction workshop on the west side, it was even more bustling with sparks flying everywhere as technicians wearing safety helmets were busily installing and debugging equipment for producing color coated steel plates... It was a lively yet intense scene of construction. "This is the 500,000-ton annual high-end premium color coated steel plate project we started constructing in June 2011 with an investment of RMB 580 million in collaboration with Canada ETS Investment Co., Ltd. Currently, the entire project is progressing smoothly, and it is expected that one production line will enter trial production in early March," said Liu Yanting, Chairman of Hebei Yanda Color Coated Steel Sheet Industry Co., Ltd., happily to the reporters.
The 500,000-ton high-end premium color coated steel plate project of Hebei Yanda Color Coated Steel Sheet Industry Co., Ltd. is located inside the company's premises in the city’s modern equipment manufacturing industry gathering area. The planned total investment is RMB 580 million, with a construction period of two years. The main production lines are all mature domestic equipment currently in use. The technology and control will adopt imported equipment, including one acid washing production line with an annual output of 500,000 tons, two cold rolling production lines each with an annual output of 500,000 tons, one aluminum-zinc coated production line with an annual output of 300,000 tons, two color coated production lines each with an annual output of 500,000 tons, as well as auxiliary facilities such as a waste acid regeneration station with a capacity of 4.5m/H, etc.
General Manager Sun Jianian introduced that the 500,000-ton high-end premium color coated steel plate project is an expansion and product structure extension project based on Yanda Company's original investment of RMB 100 million to build an annual production capacity of 250,000 tons of galvanized steel sheets and 150,000 tons of color coated steel sheets. The project is designed with the concept of "scientific design, energy saving and consumption reduction", following the principles of eliminating pollution, protecting the environment, comprehensive utilization, and turning harm into benefit. A large number of energy-saving facilities and processes have been adopted. The waste treatment project is designed, constructed, and put into operation simultaneously with the main project. After research and calculation, the annual consumption of various types of energy is equivalent to approximately 29,000 tons of standard coal, with a unit product comprehensive energy consumption of 0.036 tons of standard coal per ton, and a unit output value comprehensive energy consumption of 0.073 tons of standard coal per ten thousand yuan, all of which are at the leading level in the national same industry. The newly adopted technologies and processes are also the latest, such as the introduction of German Siemens frequency converter speed regulator for the production line power system, which reduces electricity consumption, motor maintenance costs, and power equipment capacity, with an average electricity saving efficiency reaching over 30%. The acid washing production line is equipped with an acid regeneration station, which not only reduces environmental pollution but also improves the utilization rate of acid, achieving zero discharge of acid solution; at the same time, a water circulation system is installed, increasing the utilization rate of water and saving energy. After the project reaches its full production capacity, it will form an annual production scale of 500,000 tons of acid washing-cold rolling-galvanizing (aluminum-zinc coating)-color coating, with the final product being 500,000 tons of high-end premium color coated steel plates annually. At that time, Yanda Color Coated Steel Sheet Industry Co., Ltd. will overall form a production capacity of 900,000 tons of color coated and galvanized steel plates, with an annual revenue of RMB 39.5 billion yuan, taxes and profits of RMB 671.5 million yuan, and employment arrangements for over 1,000 people.
Speaking about the next steps of construction, Sun Jianian said: "We will start from our own conditions, collect and analyze market information, integrate and optimize the resources of our company, continuously accelerate the progress of the project construction, strive for early production, and operate the project with the highest efficiency in the shortest time possible. Meanwhile, in terms of technological innovation, we will actively introduce advanced foreign technology and aim to build a production line at the first-class domestic level."
