Experimental evidence: Losing 10 jin (Chinese unit of weight) in half a year by eating peanuts every day. Previously, American researchers gathered 101 middle-aged and elderly men and women with obesity. They were divided into two groups. One group was assigned to eat low-fat foods (mainly lean meat and vegetables), while the other ate nut-based foods (mainly peanut oil, peanut butter, mixed nuts, and vegetables).

After six months, both groups lost an average of 11 pounds. However, after a year, the first group regained some weight, whereas those who ate peanuts did not gain any weight.

This finding challenges common knowledge. For a long time, people have believed that eating high-fat foods, like peanuts and peanut butter, easily leads to weight gain. But research has found that regularly eating peanuts and peanut butter does not lead to weight gain and can even reduce the incidence of heart disease.

Experts point out that eating peanuts and peanut butter easily creates a feeling of fullness, which helps control appetite, making it very suitable for lazy people trying to lose weight. The study discovered that indulging in peanut butter can fill you up without easily leading to weight gain. Many people might be surprised because peanut butter is a high-calorie food; two tablespoons contain 16 grams of fat and 200 calories. However, many people also overlook one point: peanut butter quickly makes you feel full.

Moreover, high-quality peanuts, peanut oil, and other peanut products contain a nutrient called folic acid, which contains a large amount of monounsaturated fatty acids. These can increase heat dissipation, burn harmful cholesterol, and lower high blood lipids. In addition to folic acid, peanuts also contain various beneficial fibers that help clear intestinal waste and do not lead to obesity.
