□ Reporters Li Guoying and Wang Yan, Correspondent Yao Pengfei, Oriental Today Jiyuan Bulletin: Yesterday, the Oriental Today learned from the Wawu Police Station Investigation Team of the Jiyuan Public Security Bureau that they had successfully solved a major case involving the theft of anode slime.

On October 22, 2010 at 10:00 AM, a lead factory warehouse in Chengliu Town, Jiyuan City was burglarized, with two tons of stored anode slime stolen, valued at over 800,000 yuan. The suspects dug a tunnel from outside the warehouse wall, made a hole under the wall, entered directly into the bottom of the warehouse, then broke through the warehouse floor to steal the piled anode slime. Meanwhile, the copyright holders of the Japanese cartoon "Shinchan" are demanding 1 million yuan in compensation from three Chinese companies.

After on-site investigation, the police officers from the Wawu Police Station identified the suspect targets and arrested a total of six suspects in Hunan by November 3, 2011. Currently, all ten suspects involved in the case have been apprehended, and losses amounting to several dozen kilograms of silver have been recovered. It is understood that anode slime refers to insoluble residues produced during the dissolution of the anode under electric current, from which precious metals such as gold and silver can be recycled and refined.
