Bai Hao Yin Zhen and Bai Mu Dan refer to white tea made from young green leaves covered with fine hairs, and their whiteness comes from processing; whereas Anji White Tea is a famous green tea made from young white leaves of a special white leaf tea variety processed in the method of green tea, and its jade color comes from the variety itself. Anji White Tea is both a rare variety of tea tree and a valuable name of white tea.

Experts further concluded that Anji White Tea is indeed the white tea mentioned in Emperor Huizong's "Great View Tea Treatise". The origin of Bai Hao Yin Zhen in Fuding, Fujian started in 1796, so from this timeline, Anji White Tea predates the white tea among China's six major tea categories by nearly seven centuries.

With the opportunities provided by history and time, and recognized by experts and scholars in China's tea studies field, Anji White Tea officially established its brand and name in 2002. With historical and cultural origins, Anji White Tea became more confident and much more famous than before.

The depth of brand culture is hard-won, and the Anji government carefully constructed and accumulated it. In April 2001, the "2001 China - Anji White Tea Festival" was grandly held in Anji, hosted by the Anji County People's Government and organized by the China Anji White Tea Society, the Anji White Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture. Anji County was named the "Hometown of Chinese White Tea" by the Organizing Committee of the Publicity Campaign for Famous and Special Hometowns of China. Currently, white tea has become one of the main contents of Anji's annual ecological cultural festival. In 2002, the first white tea cultivation and cutting took place in Xilong Township, the main producing area of white tea, where the White Tea Fairy Site Park was built, and the White Tea Theme Park was completed in Diping, the seat of Anji County.
