According to reports, Jiang Guimin, an environmental sanitation worker in Luqiao, Taizhou, earns only about 1,000 yuan a month. However, after finding a bag containing 1.1 million yuan, she chose to wait for the owner in the cold wind.

At around 10 o'clock on the morning of December 25th, Jiang Guimin found a black plastic bag while sweeping near the Luqiao Decoration City on Shanghai North Street in Luqiao District.

"I opened it and saw that it was full of money - I've never seen so much money in my life, and I was scared stiff."

Jiang Guimin's first reaction was: the owner must be very anxious, and we need to return the money to him as soon as possible.

Since she didn't know who had lost the money, she had no choice but to keep waiting at the place where she found the money.

"It was very cold, and I was shivering with cold. I was also worried about the safety of the money, so I held it tightly." After nearly an hour, a man riding a motorcycle finally came along the road looking for something, and asked Jiang Guimin if she had found anything.

"He said he had lost a bag of money, worth 1.1 million yuan. I then counted the money, and sure enough, it was 1.1 million yuan. So I returned the money to that man."

After recovering the large sum of money, the man gratefully took out several hundred-yuan bills as a thank-you gift, but Jiang Guimin refused on the spot.

Jiang Guimin is 57 years old, from Fengyang, Anhui, and has been working as an environmental sanitation worker in Luqiao for 10 years. The couple worked tirelessly day and night, saving every penny to build a house for their son back home. To save money, Jiang Guimin and her husband lived in a 20-square-meter dormitory of the Road North Sanitation Office.

Some people say Jiang Guimin is foolish for not accepting the money. Jiang Guimin said she only had one thought: "This is not the result of my work, and I can't take it. Otherwise, I won't feel at ease."
