Huber Engineered Materials, a subsidiary of J.M. Huber Corporation, announced plans to expand the capacity of its silica production at the manufacturing facility in Jhagadia, India. The expansion will double the plant's capacity to 33,000 metric tons per year. The Jhagadia plant produces precipitated silica and silicate products for applications in toothpaste, paint and coatings, and paper. The additional capacity will meet growing demand for these applications in India and surrounding regions. The project is expected to be completed in early 2012. Chuck Herak, Vice President and General Manager of Huber’s Silica Division, said: "We are excited about this expansion and pleased to have the opportunity to meet the growing needs of our customers. With the successful start-up of our new silica plant in Qingdao, China, we can now focus on this new project in India." http://www.wyky.cn
