Hainan Network, Sanya, February 15 (Hainan Network reporter Liu Liping) -- On February 15, Hainan Network learned from the Sanya police that on the evening of the 14th, a young couple renting an apartment in the Renwen Shui'an neighborhood on He Dong Road in Sanya had a heated argument due to some disagreements. In anger, the wife threatened to jump off the building to get her husband's attention. Unexpectedly, this "mock threat" turned real, resulting in a tragic incident on this romantic Valentine's Day.
On the 15th, Mr. Sun, a homeowner in the complex, informed the reporter that at around 11:18 PM, he returned from a walk and saw an ambulance driving out of the Renwen Shui'an complex. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that a young woman had jumped from the building and died on the spot. Many people gathered downstairs in the complex. Among them was a man in short sleeves, with dark skin and reeking of alcohol, who was sobbing loudly while holding a little girl in his arms. The man cried uncontrollably and kept slapping himself, apologizing repeatedly to his daughter. He also kept calling relatives for help and then collapsed onto the ground. Some said he was the deceased's husband.
Due to the late hour, there was a chill in the air, so the man took off his short-sleeved shirt to cover his daughter, leaving himself bare-armed. A kind-hearted bystander gave the little girl a sheet to wrap around her, after which he put his shirt back on and sat down on a chair provided by a compassionate citizen.
It is understood that the deceased’s husband is from Heilongjiang Province. On the evening of the 14th, he and his wife were having dinner with friends outside. Both of them drank some alcohol during the meal. During the meal, the wife asked her husband, who was on the phone nearby, to stop talking on the phone all the time. He thought she was being unreasonable, and thus they began to argue. Considering their friends were present, the argument subsided after a while.
However, upon returning home, the wife started up again, continuing to make a fuss. This led to another quarrel. In the heat of the argument, the wife angrily threatened to jump off the building. The husband thought she was just trying to scare him, so he ignored her. But as they say, “quicker than the eye could see,” in the blink of an eye, the wife actually jumped off the building.
A security guard at the complex told reporters that the couple had a very intense argument on the 27th floor that night. The voices were so loud they could be heard downstairs. However, less than two minutes later, there was a "bang," and it turned out someone had fallen from the building.
An owner in the complex introduced that the couple rented the house and did not have any family in Sanya.
On the 15th, the reporter learned that the Sanya police have already intervened to investigate the matter.
