According to reports from Huaxi Metropolis Daily, recently a netizen posted online stating that on the outer walls along the Nan'an road in Yibin Sichuan, two traffic police propaganda slogans appeared where a certain brand of baijiu (Chinese liquor) advertisement was embedded. Villagers caught a carp with a goldfish tail in their fish pond (pictured). Some netizens questioned whether the traffic police had received sponsorship fees, jokingly referring to it as the "most outrageous embedded advertisement." On February 3, the Yibin Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Corps publicly responded, indicating that the banner was hung without permission by an advertising company, and they will sue the advertising company.
The baijiu advertisement was embedded within the propaganda slogan. On January 31, Sichuan Yibin netizen "Xiao Yu" posted on a local network forum, stating that on the outer walls along the original satellite observation station road in Nan'an, two traffic police propaganda slogans appeared where a certain brand of baijiu advertisement was embedded.
From the pictures posted, red banners with white letters were hanging on the outer walls of the road, bearing the promotional slogans "Traffic Police Warm Reminder: Refuse Driving Under the Influence" and "Depart with Peace, Return with Happiness." The left side of both banners featured advertisements for a certain brand of baijiu, and the bottom right corner of the banners read: "Publicized by the Yibin Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Corps."
Upon the post's release, it garnered much attention from netizens, quickly being forwarded to major network forums and communities such as Dacheng Network. Some netizens, with a teasing attitude, thought it was "absolutely brilliant to have a refusal of drunk driving message alongside alcohol advertisements," while others expressed confusion about the embedded advertisements in the propaganda slogans, questioning whether the traffic police had received sponsorship fees, humorously calling it the "most outrageous embedded advertisement."
In the afternoon of the 3rd, the reporter went to the original satellite observation station in Nan'an mentioned in the post, discovering that the banners on the outer wall had already been removed. "They've been gone for several days," said a nearby citizen.
The traffic police have sued the advertising company.
"We are completely unaware of the situation." Xian Yong, head of the publicity department at the Yibin Traffic Police Corps, introduced himself, saying he saw the post and pictures online by chance. Subsequently, the traffic police corps investigated the pictures in the post.
After investigation, it was found that the banners mentioned in the post were made without authorization by a certain advertising company in Yibin, without prior oral or written commission or permission from the traffic police corps and its subordinate second detachment. "We don't even know which advertising company it is," said Xian Yong.
Subsequently, the reporter contacted the head of the advertising company, who admitted that the banners were indeed hung by the company without the traffic police corps' approval. Xian Yong stated that in this incident, the traffic police were unjustly blamed for the advertising company's actions.
In the afternoon of the 3rd, the Yibin Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Corps publicly responded to the matter, stating that legal action has been taken against the advertising company at the翠屏 District People's Court of Yibin City, and they will protect the rights of the corps through legal means.
