Buffalo, New York (Reuters) - The Ottawa Senators roared to their next victory on Wednesday with two goals apiece from Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson securing them a 4-2 win over the Sabres. Spezza put Buffalo ahead with his first two goals of the game, scoring at 13:38 in the second period and again with almost six minutes left in the third, before Buffalo replied with two goals in 27 seconds from Andrej Sekera and Tim Connolly to tie the score at 2-2. The Swedish Alfredsson then scored on a wrister with one minute left to put the Sens ahead 3-2, then put the puck into an empty net 37 seconds later to seal the victory. Ottawa's (32-21-4) win handed Buffalo (32-16-7) its third loss in the Northeast Division lead by three points. Goal-tenders Brian Elliott (Senators) and Ryan Miller (Sabres) each finished with 34 saves. "They came at us and we lost our kind of focus for about 30 seconds," Elliott told reporters. "We bent but didn't break. And it's nice to see that we can still win games." Ottawa has relied on defense during their streak, holding each of their last 10 opponents to two goals or less. On the offensive end, both Spezza and Alfredsson are firing on all cylinders. Spezza has now scored in five consecutive games since he returned from a knee injury that sidelined him for more than a month. Alfredsson missed time last month due to a shoulder ailment, but has 13 points in his last nine games. However, Senators winger Nick Foligno will miss the next six to eight weeks with a broken leg. The Sabres have not played well lately on the road, losing six of their last eight. They've also lost eight straight to division rival Ottawa. "It's just the way it goes sometimes," said Alfredsson. "I don't know if it's a mental thing; we're just playing with good consistency which is impressive – I don't think we expected this from ourselves either...".
