Langfang news (reporter Cheng Jianhui, correspondent Liu Lufang) A villager in Dacheng County saw 29 sheep being herded by a young shepherd boy and wanted to take them for himself. He killed the boy with a wooden stick, but was caught by the police shortly after selling the sheep.

At around 8:00 AM on February 3rd, the 110 emergency hotline of Dacheng County Public Security Bureau received a report from Li, a resident of Daguang'an Township, who said that his son went to graze sheep in the marsh at 2 PM on February 2nd and had not returned home by 3 PM. The family searched everywhere until they found the body in a well house in the southeast marsh of the village on the morning of the 3rd. The 29 sheep he was herding had disappeared without a trace, valued at about 20,000 yuan. After questioning the family, the police learned that the victim suffered from intellectual disability, had been herding sheep since childhood, had a stubborn personality, and would not allow strangers to touch his sheep, let alone take them away.

When the officers were investigating at the Daguan'an market, they learned that a sheep buyer from Daguan'an Township bought 11 sheep from a butcher on the 2nd. The officers quickly found the butcher, who provided information that on January 31st, a 46-year-old man from Dongchen Village, Daguan'an Township came to his home claiming to be a shepherd, wanting to sell sheep worth 20,000 yuan. On the afternoon of the 2nd, the man brought 29 sheep, and they finally agreed on a price of 10,500 yuan. Based on the address, age, and physical characteristics of the seller, the police confirmed that Zhang from Dongchen Village, Daguan'an Township matched the suspect's profile. At 10 PM on the 3rd, the police arrested Zhang, found the cash obtained from selling the sheep in his home, retrieved the clothes worn during the crime, and recovered the 29 stolen sheep.
