When the police arrived at the home of Xiang Huifang at No. 10 Anyun Road, Xiang Huifang was not at home. The police waited outside her door until around 1 PM when Xiang Huifang's husband returned home. They immediately contacted Xiang Huifang through him, and upon hearing that her family had come looking for her, Xiang Huifang rushed back from her workplace.
Finally, Elder Wang Dechao sighed and said: "Thanks to the hard work of the police, I have finally fulfilled my last wish in life."
The elder has a total of five children; apart from the two who accompanied him to Guiyang to look for relatives, the other three sons are settled in France. In July this year, his wife passed away. After finishing the funeral arrangements, the elder proposed to find his long-lost younger sister, Wang Xiuying. His daughter, Wang Caiyun, came with her brother and brought their father to Guiyang. Brother and sister were reunited.
"It's been 35 years since we last met, today, I've finally found you!" On the afternoon of October 15th, an 84-year-old man from Wenzhou, Wang Dechao, couldn't help but shed tears of emotion when he saw his long-lost sister, Wang Xiuying, at the Beijing Road Police Station. The reunion between the two elderly people was made possible thanks to the efforts of the police officers at the Beijing Road Police Station.
After 35 years of separation, all the old man could vaguely remember was the address where he lived 35 years ago - No. 43 Zeng Family Alley on Culture Road in Guiyang. On October 12th, as soon as they got off the train and settled the old man into a hotel, the brother and sister went to Zeng Family Alley on Culture Road to look for people. However, times have changed, and the development of the era has erased all traces of the low-rise houses. After asking all the residents nearby, they still could not find the old man's sister, Wang Xiuying. When they sought help from the police station, due to the lack of a specific address, the police station was also unable to assist them.
The police analyzed that "Xiang Huifang" should be a phonetic pronunciation. Following this line of thought, they reviewed hundreds of residents in the Anyun Road area whose names sounded like "Xiang Huifang," while also narrowing down the age group to those between 50-60 years old. Through extensive inquiries and by reviewing police station archives and verifying with the neighborhood committee members, the police eventually identified a woman named "Xiang Huifang" living at No. 10 Anyun Road.
Four days had quickly passed. After updating their distant relatives in Wenzhou about the situation in Guiyang, one relative provided a clue: Aunt Wang Xiuying might have a daughter named "Xiang Huifang" who lives somewhere in the Anyun Road area.
At around 15:30 in the afternoon, when the police arranged for the two elderly people to meet, the two octogenarians who had been separated for 35 years embraced each other and cried, recounting their experiences after being separated. The families, neighbors, and police present were all moved to tears.
"Comrades of the police force, can you help us find our relatives?" At 10 AM on October 15th, a man and a woman in their 50s visited the Beijing Road Police Station. They held paper notes with addresses written on them and anxiously asked the on-duty police officer in Mandarin with a Wenzhou accent.
On October 15th, with a glimmer of hope, the brother and sister came to the Beijing Road Police Station. The police warmly received these two visitors from out of town and assigned community police officers Li Peimin and Liu Ying to verify the information they provided.
The on-duty police officer led the two visitors to the reception room and carefully inquired about the situation. It turned out that these two were siblings. They had accompanied their 84-year-old father, Wang Dechao, to arrive in Guiyang by train on October 12th, in order to find his long-lost younger sister.
