Xinhua News Agency, Hohhot, March 5th (Bai Bing, Zhao Yongfeng) - On March 5th, the "Lei Feng Day," more than 500 drivers of the Lei Feng Taxi Fleet in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, provided free rides all day to elderly, weak, sick, disabled, and pregnant passengers.

According to Ma Wengang, captain of the Lei Feng Taxi Fleet in Baotou, this year's service theme remains "Promoting Virtues, Inheriting the Spirit of Lei Feng." Before the arrival of "Lei Feng Day," the fleet's Party branch issued an initiative to over 500 members, calling on everyone to provide free rides all day on March 5th to elderly, weak, sick, disabled, and pregnant individuals. Each Lei Feng taxi has a large image of Lei Feng on its hood, and as long as seniors, disabled individuals, pregnant women, or patients encounter a taxi with the Lei Feng fleet logo, they just need to wave, and the driver will take them to their destination for free.

It is reported that this activity is the third "Lei Feng Day" free transportation event organized by the Baotou Lei Feng fleet since its establishment nearly three years ago. During the first two events, the Lei Feng fleet drivers provided free rides to over 800 local residents, generating a strong social response and becoming one of the major symbols of civility in Baotou.

Ma Wengang said that the Lei Feng fleet named itself after "Lei Feng" and has taken on significant social responsibilities since its inception. Although we are just ordinary taxi drivers, we have the confidence to carry forward the spirit of Lei Feng in people's hearts: enthusiasm for public welfare, willingness to help others, poverty alleviation, justice, kindness to others, and dedication to society.
