Recently, Wang, who was accused of intentional homicide, was tried at the Second Intermediate People's Court. A criminal psychology expert analyzed that Wang's behavior was a typical case of frustration aggression.
"I am sick," Wang emphasized in court that two months before the incident, he suffered from insomnia and sought medical treatment, but even after taking medicine, he still couldn't sleep.
The expert stated that Wang's behavior was a typical "frustration attack." Professor Wu believed that Wang and his wife came to Beijing with beautiful aspirations, but they were not well-prepared for the difficulties ahead. As a result, their hard life caused Wang to feel an immense sense of frustration. Without any outlet for this pressure, the argument on the day of the incident became the trigger.
"I disagreed, but she insisted on moving, which made me very angry," Wang said. "I suddenly felt that life was unbearable, so I pulled her onto the bed and strangled her with my hands."
Currently, the family of Cao has not filed a claim against Wang. The court will announce its verdict on this case at a later date.
Expert Analysis
Professor Wu believed that people like Wang, part of the post-80s generation, although living in rural areas, have not endured as much hardship compared to the 60s and 70s generations. They tend to have poor psychological resilience and weak self-control, making them more likely to react aggressively when faced with setbacks. Therefore, their loved ones may become the objects of their venting without considering the consequences.
Evidence provided by the prosecution showed that Cao's fingernails contained flakes of Wang's skin, proving that she had grabbed him and resisted fiercely.
Professor Wu suggested that people like Wang should make more friends and release stress and dissatisfaction in a timely manner. Meanwhile, family members should offer more encouragement and less blame.
This morning, I interviewed Professor Wu Boxin, a renowned criminal psychologist from the Public Security University of China regarding this case.
According to the report, Wang admitted to the charges. He said that on the day of the incident, an argument broke out because his wife proposed moving.
It is understood that after his wife's death, Wang sat in the house until it was dark. Later, after dinner, he went to his neighbor's house and told them that he had strangled his wife. His neighbor-in-law immediately reported the incident to the police.
